Golf Courses

Sevierville is located in the midst of the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. The town's rolling hills and natural beauty provide both challenge and beauty to golfers who play the area's courses. Two courses are located in the town, as well as a few more outside. Whether a beginning novice or a seasoned professional, there's something for every golfer in Sevierville.
The Highlands
Located at the Sevierville Golf Club, The Highlands Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course with a par of 70. Hole one warms players up with a par 5 just outside the clubhouse. Waterways surround the greens, which themselves wind through rolling hills and trees for challenging playtime. The course ends next to the Sevierville Event Center, forcing players to drive golf balls across a body of water to the waiting 18th hole on the other side.
The River Course
Also located at the Sevierville Golf Club, The River Course is one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in the Sevierville area. The River Course is an 18-hole championship course surrounded by as much water as it is land. Players may want to bring plenty of golf balls for this one, as losing one is highly possible for amateurs and pros alike. The greens at The River Course have more than 7,000 feet in total yardage, as well as a par of 72.
Discount rates are available for seniors and children under age 15 for both The Highlands and The River Courses. The Sevierville Golf Club also provides discounted twilight rates. The courses are located off Old Knoxville Highway. Call for tee times.
The Gatlinburg Golf Course
Just a couple of miles from Sevierville, the Gatlinburg Golf Course is mountain golfing at its best. The course underwent a half million dollar renovation in 2007, which earned it the Golf Digest's 2009 award for Tennessee's Best Muny Golf Course. Aside from it's views, the Gatlinburg Golf Course is most famous for its 12th hole, which drops 200 feet from tee to hole in just a brief 194 yards. This course features very little water barrier, as well as long and slim fairways. Its longest, the number 3 hole, is 529 yards - a feature that adequately earned it the nickname, "Long Lane." Total course length for the William Langford-designed course is 6,281 yards. Rates vary by season, but include green fees and a cart. Discounts are available for twilight hours and guests who only want to play 9 holes.
River Islands Golf Club
The River Islands Golf Club lies just minutes outside of Sevierville, and was ranked four stars by Golf Digest. Because it's situated in the midst of the Smokey Mountains, the fairways at River Islands Golf Club offer sweeping views and a large quantity of indigenous wildlife. Though the club only has one course, it is ideal for a family outing for a casual golfer who wants balanced game play. Renowned golf course designer, Arthur Hills, designed the course. It starts simple enough, with a couple of par 4 courses at medium length, but the game quickly becomes more challenging as players have to navigate varied elevations, avoid bunkers and the steer clear of rivers to stay in play.
